Lockdown Trend: The Ultimate Baking Banana Bread
If you've been observant on social media, you must have noticed that a lot of people have taken up baking! And, banana bread seems to be the hot topic right now! People are experimenting with making different kinds of recipes with one ingredient- Bananas. Banana bread has become everyone's favorite snack. It's as fun to make it as it is to eat. A lot of millennials have been spending time in the kitchen and trying out different dishes. Baking seems to be the most popular choice during this lockdown. According to Google Trends, banana bread searches have gone up by 54% worldwide. It's a global rage right now and that's a lot of people baking this bread!
Why did it become so popular?
Banana is a fruit that can go bad very quickly but fortunately overripe bananas are perfect for baking! You can also freeze them in advance for baking with them later! People got creative with their thinking and suddenly it became a trend that everyone wanted to be a part of. From Chrissy Teigen's Banana bread to one mug banana cake, one-pot banana cake, banana muffins & cupcakes, our social feed is exploding with this recipe in all forms! So, we thought, why not try it out ourselves.

If you're looking for a classic banana bread recipe, here's a basic recipe that you can make with everything available in your kitchen already. And, this loaf could last up to a week in your fridge in an air-tight container!
Ingredients:
1.5 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 cinnamon sticks powder
1/2 cup cooking oil (can be any)
5-6 tablespoons milk 1 pinch salt
2 spoons of baking soda or baking powder (or you can use 2 packets of blue Eno as well and it turns out just the same)
2.5/3 medium-sized overripe bananas
Chocolate Chips (optional)
Method:
1. Mash bananas add cinnamon sugar and mix well. It should be like a puree.
2. Add oil and sifted flour and baking powder or Eno with salt
3. Mix it well.
4. Add milk & bring it all together.
5. Put it in greased pan and sprinkle some chocolate chips.
6. Bake at 180° for 25-30 mins or till it's done.
Dunk in iced coffee and overeat and then pass out watching your favourite show.
Banana bread doesn't seem to go out of trend anytime soon because it's definitely going to be a part of our daily lives even after the lockdown is lifted.
