Makar Sankranti is a festival celebrated across the country. A day when the sky is adorned with colourful kites, kids scramming to be the first to grab a kite as it slowly descends to the ground when the string gets cut, a plethora of snacks and drinks on a table to keep up energy levels and a lively atmosphere. I don't know if I speak for everyone reading this, but 14th January is definitely one of those days where I am up before the sun, just waiting for my friends before we can all head up to the terrace and stay there till sun down. And of course, during the course of the day munch on a variety of snacks, from peanut chikkis to til ladoos, energy bars and maybe even a rehydrating drink or two.

So this year, while you get busy prepping your kites for the big day, I went ahead and made a small albeit sweet list of five chikki recipes that will sure give you the much needed energy boost throughout the day.
