Kalakandh

In a pan pour the milk.
Add sugar.
Bring the sugar and milk to a boil.
TIP: The milk and sugar have to reduce.
Once the milk and sugar have reduced, add mawa.
Mix well
TIP: The consistency should be thick..
Mix well.
TIP: This mixture is the base for other mithais. You can make strawberry flavoured with strawberry essence, similarly with mango and chocolate.
Add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder.
Mix well.
Turn off the gas.
TIP: Take a tiny bit of the mixture from the sides, if turns into a ball, it is ready.
Remove it in tray.
Spread it evenly.
Sprinkle some chopped pistas.
TIP: Cool the mixture to set for 1-2 hrs or more.
Once the mithai has set, cut them into pieces and serve.
