Founded by 23-year-old Chef Rachi Gupta, The Bread Bar in Chembur is more than just a café—it’s a community hub offering a delightful experience with freshly baked goods, warm ambience, and now an expanded dine-in space. Initially launched in 2021 as a limited-seating café focused on pickup and takeaway orders, The Bread Bar quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of a 45-seater dine-in space right next to its original location.

Ambience
The Bread Bar’s interiors are a visual treat, adorned with bread and baking-related motifs and illustrations. Inside, every detail has been carefully curated to tell their story. Natural light floods the space through a large window puncture, highlighting bay window seating with vibrant yellow stripes. The design includes playful touches like pendant lights resembling dough and door handles shaped like Danish pastries, bringing the whole concept together.

What we tried
The Bread Bar offers a menu featuring new brunch and café-style dishes alongside its beloved classics. We began our visit with the Fettucine Pesto a must-try, embodying comfort food with its fresh basil, creamy sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta. We then moved on to try the chicken parm sandwich - picture a crunchy fried chicken nestled in a warm baguette with a tangy marinara sauce, lettuce and creamy mozzarella.

For dessert, the signature Almond Croissant is the star of the meal, with its flaky, buttery layers enclosing a molten almond core—a dreamy treat that shouldn’t be missed.

Verdict
Whether you’re in the mood for a light snack, a hearty meal, or a sweet treat, The Bread Bar has something for everyone. And with its welcoming ambience and delicious offerings, it’s a place you’ll want to return to time and again.
