Method:

  • Start with melting ghee
  • Once the ghee melts, add rava
  • Add the sliced banana
  • TIP: Fry the rava till it turns golden brown
  • Once the rava has turned golden brown, start boiling the milk
  • TIP: Always use double the amount of milk to the quantity of rava taken
  • To the fried rava, add raisins
  • Add cardamom and nutmeg powder according to taste
  • Add chopped almonds
  • Now, pour the boiled milk
  • TIP: Water can also be used instead of milk, but because this is prasad milk should be the choice
  • TIP: To get the right texture, ensure the milk is hot
  • TIP: Ensure the rava soaks the milk completely
  • Now, add sugar
  • TIP: For 1/4 kg rava, 1/4 kg sugar and 1/4 kg ghee use 1/2L milk
  • Mix well
  • TIP: Allow the rava to cook under the steam for 5 mins
  • Once the sheera is ready, turn off the gas
