In a pan add ghee, chopped tomato, tamarind water, rassam powder, salt, turmeric powder and let it cook for 15 minutes.
Then add in the red gram which was soaked in water, chopped corriander leaves and stir it again.
For tempering:
Add in oil, mustard seeds,cumin seeds, asafoetida water, curry leaves and let them crackle.
Add in the tadka to the other pan and give it a final stir.
Thakkali rassam is ready to serve.
