How To Make Quick Hummus

A very popular Middle-Eastern dip, Hummus is tasty, nutritious and extremely easy to make.

  • In a blender, place all the ingredients one by one
  • Add the chickpeas
  • Add the garlic cloves
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add the tahini paste
  • Blend the ingredients together
  • Add some water after you have finished blending
  • Blend again
  • The hammas should not be too watery, but should form a thick paste
  • Check the paste for lumps or unblended chickpeas
  • Transfer the paste to a serving dish
  • You can try out different variations of the hammas, using parsley, beetroot, roasted red bell peppers or even basil leaves
  • With the back of a spoon, spread the paste evenly
  • For garnishing, make a well in the middle of the paste
  • Push the hammas out to the edges
  • Pour the extra virgin olive oil in the well
  • Arrange a few of the whole chickpeas around the edges of the well
  • Sprinkle some sumac powder over the hammas
  • Instead of sumac, you can also use Zatar, paprika powder, red chilli powder, chopped basil, chopped parsley etc.
