How To Make Quick Upma
Rava Upma is one of the most popular snacks across India and nothing is better than a homemade Upma. Upma is easy to make and can be cooked in a quick time. Watch this video, learn the recipe and make a delicious Upma with Archana for your breakfast.

- Roast the rava and remove it in a plate
- Now add 3-4 tbsp oil and let it heat well
- Once the oil is well heated, add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (rai), 1/2 tsp urad dal, 10-12 curry leaves (kadi patta), 3-4 green chillies, some coriander, 1 cup finely chopped onions, 1/2 tsp sugar and salt according to taste
- Add 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes and mix well together
- Now add, the roasted rava, 1/2 lime juice and stir well
- Add 2 cups of boiled water
- Now cover the upma with a lid and let it cook under the steam for 5 mins
- Remove the lid and give it a last stir
- Ready to serve, garnish with coriander and lime
TIP
- Ensure to roast the rava well, if not it will become sticky
- Can also add peas, soaked peanuts, carrots or finely chopped french beans
- The quantity of oil used is more while making upma, as none is used while roasting
