Procedure:

  • Heat oil in a deep pan
  • Add the jeera seeds (cumin seeds)
  • Add the cloves
  • Add the black pepper
  • Add the cinnamon
  • Add the aniseed
  • Open and add the green cardamoms
  • Add the bay leaves
  • Stir well
  • Add the green chillies
  • Add the onions
  • Sauté the onins until golden brown
  • Add little salt
  • TIP: Adding the salt make the onions sweat faster
  • Add the peas
  • Add the remaining salt
  • Add the coriander leaves
  • Mix well
  • Add 2 cups of water
  • Stir well
  • Let the water come to a boil
  • Add the soaked rice
  • Stir well
  • Cover the pan with a lid and let the rice cook for 15-20 mins
  • Add a few coriander leaves
  • Read to serve
