Salads are undoubtedly the most healthy and convenient meals to have. Apart from being easy to make and quick to eat, they are also very light on the system, making them the perfect accompaniments to main dishes.
While a basic salad dressing comes in handy, it's always a good idea to jazz it up with some fun flavours. So how about trying more than just a basic Vinaigrette dressing the next time you make a salad?
Mango and Lime
Bored of the same old basic salad? Add a tangy twist to it. Mix together the puree of one mango along with lime juice, mustard, lime zest, sugar and salt. Pour in rice vinegar, vegetable oil and mix again. Mix with the salad and serve.
Roasted Garlic
Although not the best first date dressing, this one definitely adds a kick to your salad. To make this, begin by roasting some garlic with olive oil until tender. Chop and mix with red wine vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper and olive oil and drizzle on your salad.
Balsamic Chocolate
Although this doesn't sound as appetizing, it will definitely take your salad up a notch. Blend in balsamic vinegar, vegetable oil, cocoa powder, olive oil, sugar, salt and pepper. Make sure everything is well incorporated and add to the salad.
Spicy Chutney
Love salad but want to add a desi tadka to it? If yes, this dressing is perfect for you. Mix together green mango chutney, lime juice, ground cumin, vegetable oil salt. Mix well and drizzle over your salad.
Herb and Hazelnut
With the freshness of the herbs and crunch of the hazelnut, this dressing is quite the winner. To make it, blend mustard and cider vinegar along with salt, chopped chives, vegetable oil and hazelnut oil in a blender. Once well combined, add to your salad.
Watermelon and Mint
A fruity twist to an otherwise regular dressing. Start by pureeing watermelon, olive oil, vinegar, vegetable oil, salt, pepper and mint. Once it is well mixed, mix it with your salad.
Creamy Vegan
A great dressing option for every vegan out there! Mix together mustard, cider vinegar, salt, tofu and olive oil in a blender until smooth. Mix in chopped chives and parsley and add to the salad.
