If you’re a Raw Pressery fan, you’ll be glad to know that they’re coming out with eight new blends this year. Remember you learnt about them here, before anyone else got to know!
Free from preservatives, added colours and flavours, Raw juices are as real as it gets, and a far cry from most other beverages available in the market. I should know – they gave me a taste test before letting me sample the new variants. It also happened to be their fourth anniversary (on 24th January) so there was healthy vegan cake to be had after all the juicing.
Placed before me were two different apple juices and two orange juices. My task – to guess the Raw juices. And you know what? I didn’t even have to taste them to know! The Raw orange was lighter in colour, the way oranges actually look, and the apple juice was muddy and fibrous, unlike the unnatural translucence of the other variant. It is scary to think that the ‘fresh’ and ‘healthy’ juices you glug are nothing like the fruits they supposedly came from.
Anyway, so a while ago, Raw Pressery introduced their ready to have soups in four variants – tomato, mix veg, mushroom (my personal favourite) and sweet corn. And here is what you can look forward to in the coming months:
Aloe Vera Lemonade
Aloe vera is great for the skin and in this refreshing blend, it gets a makeover with the infusion of ginger, mint, rock salt and agave for natural sweetness.
Mixed Fruit
It’s nothing like the coloured, fake mixed fruit juices available in the market! This one is robust, with a lot of body and plenty of natural sweetness.
Mandarin Orange
If you drink pure orange juice, you know it’s not as sweet as one might imagine. Mandarin oranges are naturally sweeter and so, this one’s easier on the palate.
Mango Coco
Mango and coconut – not a very likely combination I’d say. The juice is pleasant enough but the coconut is quite overwhelmed by the taste of mango.
Grapefruit
A wonderfully light, sweet and tangy juice, this one looks like a dream as well. Grapefruit are a dieter’s very good friend so you can safely have this while watching calories.
Coffee Almond Milk
It’s coffee, almond milk, and nothing else, as they love to proclaim. This might be a good option for cold coffee drinkers but I felt it could be more homogenous.
Turmeric Almond Milk
You’ll never think of haldi doodh in quite the same way again! This one’s much tastier and my favourite from among the three almond variants.
Cacao Almond Milk
This chocolatey almond milk is quite delightful and could be a hit with the kids. But don’t expect it to taste like dairy cold chocolate.
Of course, your regular favourites like Life, Trim and Shield will continue to be on the shelves. By the way, if you’ve been wondering where the coconut juice disappeared, Anuj Rakyan, the MD and Founder of Raw Pressery told us that they’ve discontinued the production due to issues with sourcing the coconuts. But you never know, they might make a comeback some time.
