Another phone-shot show, a successful offline event and fresh new recipes videos have us summer-ready
I'm thrilled about two things: Huma Qureshi hitting the big screens as Tarla Dalal and the debut episode of Food vs. Dare, our first phone-shot show, where our little writers Aayushi and Shreyasee challenge each other as they explore Bengali and Maharashtrian cuisine side by side. To make things more interesting, the one to forfeit will have to accept a dare. Watch their first episode to know who lost and what their dare was.
The long weekend featured Good Friday, Pohela Boisakh, Varusha Pirappu, Hanuman Jayanti and Easter aligning themselves between Friday-Sunday. For Pohela Boisakh we tried an authentic style panta bhaat and ilish maach. And this Kanchipuram idli recipe was a winner on Varusha Pirappu. You can also read and save this story for a bonafide list of iftar treats and where to order them from.
For the kids who went back to school and those with big hearts who wish to share their dabba with their friends, we have a no-bake fruit pizza recipe that is easy to make and healthy with the wholesome goodness of fruits. Another lunchbox recipe you can try is this no-fuss chutney sandwich and carrot salad recipe that is so good, the tiffin will come back home squeaky clean.
My best summer plan was the event I hosted as IFN's first offline event titled Mind The Gap at Soho House. Our line-up included chefs such as Ranveer Brar, Sanjyot Keer, Rahul Gomes Pereira and Gresham Fernandes who came together to talk about and bridge the apparent gap between Reel chefs and Real chefs. Here is a little summary of the event that you can see for yourself. The support and response garnered from this event was so overwhelming, we may just do another one.
