The first thing that pops up in our mind when we think about Mexican food is tacos. This traditional Mexican dish made with corn or wheat tortilla, and stuffed with different fillings is our absolute favourite. A taco can be dressed with a variety of fun stuffings making it the perfect snack for any occasion.

Potato Stuffing

Who doesn't love potatoes? This friendly vegetable can be added to almost anything and what better way to eat them than in a taco. All you need to do is fry a couple of boiled chopped potatoes with onions, red peppers, chilli and cilantro. Fill them in your taco shells with sour cream and you are good to go.

Beans and cheese

One of the easiest and tastiest taco fillings, beans and cheese stuffed tacos are soul food. Fill your taco shells with baked beans, cream cheese, grated mozzarella cheese and top it off with some parsley or coriander. No fuss, only delicious tacos!

Grilled/ Deep Fried Meat

Most traditional tacos are filled with grilled or fried meat. Take your choice of meat (mutton, chicken, lamb) and either grill or fry them until crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then cut and stuff them in the taco shells with fried onions, chopped veggies like tomatoes and capsicum and a little guacamole on the side. Yum!

Seafood

Fish or shrimp tacos are among the most popular ones. The grilled fish or shrimp can be paired very well with coleslaw, lettuce, and avocados. Mayonnaise and fish go very well together and make for a great taco stuffing. A little ground pepper and lemon is perfect to top these off.

Chorizo

This traditional Spanish-style sausage makes for a perfectly spicy filling for tacos. Chopped up and mixed with guacamole, salsa, onions and cilantro it will make you drool. And for all those who love spicy food, this can be served with a Mexican salsa for the added flavour and heat.
